Only a strategic alliance of all democratic minded organizations and people – not least the Democratic Party – offers the chance of defeating the powerful opponents of democracy and democratic rights, gathered in and closely aligned to Trump and the Republican Party. Any idea that the alliance is temporary and tactical, to be dispensed with at the first sign of a weakening of this retrograde and authoritarian political bloc is wrongheaded. The accent within this expansive and diverse coalition defending democracy for the foreseeable future should be on finding common ground and cooperation, not contestation and division.
The Warriors are Golden, Again!
Steph served up a masterpiece and the defense was extraordinary. Everybody contributed. The Warriors have changed the geography and algebra of basketball. To watch them is – I don’t know – heavenly.
A modest proposal to SCOTUS decision: Pick a contested congressional election in your area (could be an adjacent state). Send a contribution to the Democratic candidate in that cd. Commit to calling 50 voters each week after Labor Day in that cd. And volunteer to canvass door to door 3 times between now and election day.
Listening to the testimony of Cassidy Hutchinson makes it obvious that what happened in Washington on Jan 6 could have been much worse if Trump and his inner circle had had their way. The lawlessness on the part of Trump and his conspirators, mentioned by Cassidy, is beyond the pale and should trouble any patriot.
The testimony on January 6 coup attempt was riveting and revealing. And to think that THAT MAN had the nuclear code in his hands!
