Fox

Any explanation for the refusal of white voters to break with Trump in yesterday’s election, despite seemingly good reasons to do so, has to include the role of FOX and the rest of the right wing media. This media juggernaut enjoys a loyal and captive audience of tens of millions who turn to it daily in order to understand a complex and changing world.

Resist and extinguish

In claiming to be the victim of a rigged and corrupted election and making baseless accusations of fraud last night, Trump is attempting to set one half of the country against the other, provoke violence, and delegitimize the election. His campaign to “blow up” what millions of voters decided in the sanctity of a polling booth earlier this week should be strongly repudiated by people of all political persuasions. The fire of hatred, disruption, and division should be summarily resisted and extinguished.

Not the first time

Black voters across the Upper Midwest and possibly GA appear to be bringing Joe Biden across the finish. Not the first time that the Black community occupied the front ranks in the fight to defend and expand democracy.

BFD

I’m going to wait a few days before I draw any hard and fast conclusions about yesterday’s election. The electoral map could look different than it does now. Moreover, if Biden wins the presidency, that is a bfd.

Bluer tint

The vote still is coming in and as it does, it has a bluer tint to it. Like 2018, the next few days could give Democrats a substantial victory. And the reason is that Latino voters in AZ and Black voters in the upper Midwest, PA, and GA are weighing in. Stay tuned.
